Description
The name is almost as simple as it sounds… the small fuzzy flowerheads resemble a kitten’s toes!
This evergreen groundcover can be found from coastal locations up to 5000′ or higher along meadow edges and rock outcroppings. It spreads by runners underground rhizomes, creating a mat with 2-12″ flower stalks coming up out of the older leaf rosettes May-July. Foliage is gray and wooly, with rosy pink and pearly white blooms. Prefers full sun and average soil. Excellent choice in pollinator gardens!!
