Also called Prairie Clover, it is a perennial legume with light pink to purple flowers appearing May-July.  Found most often in soft clay and sandy soils of the sagebrush steppe, up to about 8000′.  Highly palatable to many types of wildlife, but does not tolerate overgrazing.  Attracts bees.
