Description
There is a plant for every crack and crevice. Richardson’s Penstemon occurs in dry sites at lower elevations like cracks in cliff walls and other rocky and inhospitable sites. The sparse foliage isn’t much to look at, but the blooms make up for it. The spreading flower spikes extend 16 to 24 inches with large, pink/purple flowers along the spikes most of the summer. In a landscape setting it will thrive with just a little extra irrigation and well-drained soil.
